Today we’re enjoying the first snow of the winter season on Martha’s Vineyard. We had only a few inches. It’s pretty, magical stage and I hope we can keep it that way until Christmas to really get us in the Holiday spirit. So much for the weather update –
I just returned from BishieCon in St. Louis where I helped man the Dreamspinner Press booth. BishieCon is a convention for artists and writers who create Boys’ Love, whether it be yaoi, shounen-ai, or fan-slash… and, of course, the fans who enjoy it! The “Bishie” in the convention name is a shortening of the word “bishounen”, meaning “pretty boy” in Japanese. There are apparently many video games surrounding the genre and many attendees came in the costume of their favorite characters. They competed in various contests and bought lots of Dreamspinner Press Books. Boy, do they like their man-on-man sex.
While there I had the pleasure of meeting fellow authors Jonathan Treadway, Lori Toland, Ariel Tachna, Nicki Bennett, and Trina Lane. A great time was had by all and I look forward to the next time we can get together.
