Happy New Year Everyone!
I really want to send a heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this year one of the best in my life. Realizing a dream of mine and having Final Encore, my first novel published by Dreamspinner Press at this stage of my life is such a affirmation that 50 really is the new 40! (30?)
The thank-you speech you are about read reminds me of the Academy Awards, but I really need to do it, so please indulge me for a few seconds. Without a doubt I’ll start by thanking my partner of fourteen years, Kell Hicklin. His never ending support and encouragement floors me every day and I couldn’t do this without him. He is truly the love of my life.
Next, I want to thank the people without whom none of this would have been possible. On top of the list right after Kell, is my best girlfriend Peg Plumstead. She is my technical guru and created and manages my website and Blog as well as Facebook, Twitter and all the other marketing tools that are imperative to the success of an author these days. But more importantly, for never allowing me to stop writing or get discouraged when the story got complicated or hard to write.
Next on the list is Jonathan Santy from Captivate Marketing who arranges my personal appearances and designs and produces all my promotional materials. Thanks for making Scotty Cade come to life in front of the public — and behind the computer.
Next are the good folks at Dreamspinner Press. In particular, Elizabeth, Lynn, Ariel and Anne for giving me this chance and supporting me all the way. You guys are the best and I so look forward to working with you in 2011.
And last but certainly not least, all the people who bought and read Final Encore. I could write hundreds of books but without you, no one would ever see them and my dream would have disappeared before it was even realized. Thank you, thank you, thank you. See you in 2011!
I wish all of you a new year filled with hopes and dreams come true!
